 Hi, I am Janet Byrnes.

I’m a mother, military spouse, and retired Virginia Beach- Master Police Officer. Before moving to Virginia Beach, I started a career in law enforcement in 2011 as a correctional officer and social worker. I was involved in various non-profit organizations in Philadelphia, Coatesville, PA and Montgomery County, PA. I earned my Bachelor of Arts at the nations 1st HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Law at Regent University.

I currently serve as the Vice-President of my HOA, a Navy Ombudsman, a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives as well as, the Virginia Beach NAACP.
